UK and Australia Strengthen Defence Ties Through Industry Dialogue

The UK and Australia hold a high-level defence industry dialogue, reinforcing their commitment to collaboration and technological innovation in the security sector.
Australia and the United Kingdom have reinforced their commitment to deepening defence industry ties through a high-level bilateral dialogue held on 23 February 2026. The Australia–UK Defence Industry Dialogue (AUKDID) brought together the UK Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, Luke Pollard MP, and the Australian Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon. Pat Conroy MP, to discuss opportunities for expanded cooperation in the security and technology sectors.
The joint statement released after the dialogue highlighted the two nations' shared interests in maintaining a robust defence industrial base and driving technological innovation to address emerging security challenges. Both ministers emphasized the importance of facilitating two-way trade and investment, as well as fostering closer links between Australian and British defence companies.
