UK Boosts Security Presence in Eastern Mediterranean

UK deploys warship and specialized drone-defense helicopters to the Eastern Mediterranean to safeguard British citizens and support allied defense efforts in the region.
The United Kingdom has announced that it will be sending a Royal Navy warship and specialized drone-busting helicopters to the Eastern Mediterranean, in an effort to bolster security and protect British citizens and interests in the region. HMS Dragon, a Type 45 destroyer, is set to sail to the Eastern Mediterranean in the coming weeks, where it will work alongside allies to defend shared interests and contribute to the collective self-defense of the region.
The deployment comes amid growing tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean, where countries like Greece, Cyprus, and Israel have been grappling with a range of security challenges, including the threat of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones. To address this, the UK will also be sending specialized helicopter units equipped with electronic warfare capabilities designed to detect and neutralize hostile drones.
