UK Deports Asylum Seekers with Force, Inspection Report Reveals

Asylum seekers who protested deportation under the 'one in, one out' scheme were transported in restraints, a new inspection report finds.
UK authorities have been found to have used force against asylum seekers who protested being deported to France under the Home Office's controversial "one in, one out" scheme, according to a new inspection report.
The report by HM chief inspector of prisons, Charlie Taylor, revealed that asylum seekers were transported out of the UK in waist and leg restraints after staging protests against their forced removal.
The inspection looked at a flight to France that took place on 20-21 January this year, and found that while no force was used on that particular flight, the use of restraints was documented.
The "one in, one out" scheme has been heavily criticized by refugee advocates, who argue it unfairly targets vulnerable individuals seeking asylum. The policy involves deporting asylum seekers to France immediately after new arrivals enter the UK.
