UK, EU Unite to Safeguard Ukrainian Cultural Legacy

Culture ministers from the UK and European Commission convene to strengthen cooperation in protecting Ukraine's endangered cultural heritage.
In a significant move to support Ukraine's embattled cultural landscape, the UK Government and the European Commission have joined forces to safeguard the country's endangered artistic and historical treasures. Culture Minister Michelle Donelan attended the first UK-European Commission cultural high-level meeting, where the two entities committed to enhanced collaboration in preserving Ukraine's cultural heritage amid the ongoing Russian invasion.
The high-level meeting marked a crucial step in the UK and EU's shared determination to protect Ukraine's invaluable cultural assets, which have faced immense threats and destruction since the outbreak of the war. Ukraine's cultural heritage encompasses a rich tapestry of museums, historic sites, monuments, and artistic expressions that are deeply intertwined with the nation's identity and collective memory.
