UK Minister visits Lebanon, pledging new humanitarian funding to support displaced people amidst regional tensions and crises.
Beirut, Lebanon - In a move to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region, the UK government has announced new aid funding for displaced people in Lebanon. This comes as the UK Minister for the Middle East, James Cleverly, made his first visit to Beirut since the recent escalation of regional tensions.
The visit, which took place earlier this week, saw the Minister engage in discussions with Lebanese officials and representatives from international aid organizations. During his time in the country, Cleverly pledged an additional £1.5 million in UK aid to support those displaced by the crises affecting the region.
