UK's Pathway to Net Zero by 2050: Cheaper Than a Fossil Fuel Crisis

Climate advisers forecast that achieving the UK's net zero target by 2050 will cost less than a single oil shock, while bringing health, economic and security benefits.
The UK's ambitious goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050 is not only achievable but also cheaper than weathering a single fossil fuel crisis, according to the latest findings from the government's Climate Change Committee (CCC).
The report highlights that eliminating the country's reliance on fossil fuels by transitioning to renewable energy and adopting green technologies, such as electric vehicles and heat pumps, would be the most cost-effective option for the future economy.
