UK Students Report Troubling Rise in Campus Antisemitism

A new survey from the Union of Jewish Students reveals nearly a quarter of UK students have witnessed anti-Jewish discrimination, highlighting the alarming normalization of antisemitism on university campuses.
A concerning new report from the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) has uncovered a troubling rise in antisemitism on university campuses across the United Kingdom. According to a survey of 1,000 students from all faiths and backgrounds, nearly a quarter (23%) have directly witnessed behavior that targets Jewish students for their religion or ethnicity.
Even more alarmingly, the study found that nearly half (47%) of students have witnessed justification of the October 7th attacks by Hamas - a terrorist organization responsible for numerous deadly assaults on Israeli civilians. This data points to a deeply concerning normalization of antisemitism that is becoming increasingly prevalent in academic environments meant to foster open discourse and tolerance.
