Uproar as Mexico's Frida Kahlo Treasures Head to Spain

Mexico's art world protests Frida Kahlo masterpieces being exported to Spain, seeking clarity on long-term plans for the landmark collection.
The Mexican art community is in an uproar over a deal that will see one of the world's most important collections of 20th-century Mexican art, including works by iconic artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, exported to Spain under an agreement with Banco Santander.
Nearly 400 cultural professionals have signed an open letter calling on the Mexican government to provide greater clarity on the details of the deal, particularly regarding how long the landmark collection will remain abroad.
