Washington - In a surprise statement, President Trump has claimed that the United States and Qatar were not involved in the recent attack on Iran's South Pars gas field. The president stated that Israel was responsible for the strike, which he said targeted a "relatively small section" of the crucial energy site.
The South Pars gas field is the world's largest natural gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar. It is a critical component of Iran's energy infrastructure, supplying a significant portion of the country's domestic gas needs as well as generating billions in export revenue.
