The president stated that Israel was responsible for the strike, which he said targeted a "relatively small section" of the crucial energy site.
The South Pars gas field is the world's largest natural gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar. It is a critical component of Iran's energy infrastructure, supplying a significant portion of the country's domestic gas needs as well as generating billions in export revenue.
