USMNT Star Sergiño Dest Suffers Injury Setback Ahead of World Cup

Promising USMNT defender Sergiño Dest forced off with apparent hamstring issue, putting World Cup participation in doubt.
Sergiño Dest, a key member of the United States Men's National Team (USMNT) and projected starter at the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup, suffered an apparent hamstring injury during his club team PSV Eindhoven's 2-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie league on Saturday.
The 21-year-old right-back, who has cemented his status as a rising star for the USMNT, grabbed his left hamstring and went down in obvious pain while chasing an opponent in the 57th minute of the match. Dest was unable to put weight on his left leg and had to be assisted off the field by the medical staff.
