Venezuelans Desperate to Return Home Face Passport Obstacles

Many Venezuelans living abroad want to go back to their home country, but are unable to obtain the necessary passports from the Venezuelan government, leaving them stranded.
Venezuelans who have fled their country's economic and political crisis are now facing another challenge: obtaining the passports they need to return home. With the Venezuelan government severely limiting passport issuance, many Venezuelans living abroad are finding themselves stuck in limbo, unable to reunite with family or re-establish their lives in their home country.
One such individual is Yoalbert González, who has purchased a ticket to return to Venezuela but is unable to do so because the American government still has possession of his passport.
