Volkswagen Transformation: 50,000 Jobs Cut by 2030

Volkswagen to slash 50,000 jobs in major restructuring as annual profits plunge. The German automaker faces challenges but aims to lead the electric vehicle revolution.
In a major shakeup, the iconic German automaker Volkswagen has announced plans to cut up to 50,000 jobs by the year 2030. This sweeping restructuring comes as the company battles a dramatic drop in annual profits, which nearly halved in the previous year.
The job cuts, which represent around 10% of Volkswagen's global workforce, are part of the company's ambitious transformation efforts as it races to lead the electric vehicle (EV) revolution. VW aims to become the world's largest producer of EVs, investing billions to develop new electric models and retool its factories.
