Whale Rescue Effort Underway in Northern Germany

Rescue teams rush to save a young humpback whale that has become stranded in shallow coastal waters in northern Germany.
In a race against time, rescue teams are working tirelessly to save a young humpback whale that has become stranded in shallow waters off the northern coast of Germany. The massive marine mammal, which typically roams the deep open ocean, found itself cut off from its natural habitat and now faces a precarious fight for survival.
Whale experts and marine biologists from across the region have converged on the scene, employing a variety of tactics to try and guide the whale back to deeper, safer waters. Specialized boats and inflatable pontoons are being used to gently nudge and coax the whale in the right direction, while teams on the shore work to keep the animal hydrated and minimize its distress.

Humpback whales are known to occasionally wander into coastal areas, but such a close encounter with humans is extremely rare and poses significant risks for the animal.
