Thomas Sewell, a 33-year-old neo-Nazi figure, has been committed to stand trial after allegedly leading an attack on an Indigenous protest site in Melbourne last year. Sewell pleaded not guilty to five charges over the alleged group assault on the Camp Sovereignty site.
The incident took place in 2022, and Sewell appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court via video link on Thursday morning to face the charges. The Camp Sovereignty protest site was an Indigenous-led demonstration opposing the treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
