Bahamas Mystery: Man Freed After Wife's Disappearance

A Michigan man arrested in the Bahamas after his wife vanished at sea has been released from custody. New details emerge in this complex missing persons case.
Brian Hooker, a Michigan resident, has been released from police custody in the Bahamas after being detained since April 8th. Hooker's release comes after he reported that his wife, Roberta Hooker, had fallen off their boat and was swept away by strong currents while they were vacationing in the Caribbean nation.
The incident occurred in the waters near Green Turtle Cay, a small island in the Abaco region of the Bahamas. Bahamian authorities immediately launched a search and rescue operation, but were unable to locate Roberta Hooker. Brian Hooker was then taken into custody as the investigation into his wife's disappearance continued.

In a statement, the Royal Bahamas Police Force said that while the investigation is still ongoing, there is currently insufficient evidence to hold Hooker responsible for his wife's disappearance.
