Canadian Mom Decries ICE Detention as 'Wrong and Illegal'

A Canadian mother and daughter were released from ICE detention in Texas, but the mother decries the 'unsafe and degrading' conditions they faced.
Tania Warner, a Canadian mother, and her seven-year-old daughter, Ayla, were recently released from nearly three weeks of detention by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). While Warner was relieved to regain her freedom, she was saddened by the knowledge that many other families remain incarcerated in the same unsafe and degrading facilities.
During her time in detention, Warner expressed deep compassion for the other detainees, stating, "They were wonderful people. I just loved them and I cried so hard when I left, I just wanted to take them all with me." This heartfelt sentiment underscores the humanitarian crisis unfolding at the hands of the current administration's immigration policies.
