Conservative Politician Pauline Hanson Claimed Taxpayer-Funded Solar Rebate Despite Opposing Subsidies

Exclusive investigation reveals the One Nation leader accessed a government scheme to install solar on her home, despite calling for an end to public subsidies for renewable energy projects.
Pauline Hanson, the leader of the One Nation political party in Australia, has been revealed to have accessed a taxpayer-funded rebate scheme to install solar power on her Queensland home, despite being a vocal critic of government subsidies for renewable energy projects.
Exclusive information obtained from the Clean Energy Regulator under freedom of information laws shows that Hanson is one of three conservative federal MPs who have taken advantage of the small-scale renewable energy scheme (SRES), a program designed to provide rebates for homeowners and small businesses to install rooftop solar systems.
This revelation comes despite Hanson's repeated calls for an end to public subsidies for net zero policies and large-scale renewable energy projects. A spokesperson for the One Nation leader has stated that the party supports rooftop solar, but has maintained its stance against subsidies for large-scale renewable developments.
