Controversy Over Palantir's £330M NHS Contract: MP Refutes Ideology Claim

Head of parliamentary committee rejects Palantir's claims that criticism of its lucrative NHS England deal is 'ideologically motivated', says government's review was appropriate.
The head of a parliamentary committee has firmly rejected claims by data analytics company Palantir that concerns over its multimillion-pound contract with the National Health Service (NHS) in England are ideologically motivated. Chi Onwurah, the Labour MP who chairs the science, innovation and technology select committee, asserted that it was appropriate for the government to seek guidance on activating a break clause in the £330 million deal.
Palantir, a US-based firm co-founded by Peter Thiel, has faced significant scrutiny over its work with the NHS, with critics raising concerns about the company's data privacy practices and its potential conflicts of interest. However, the company has dismissed these criticisms, insisting that they are driven by political ideology rather than substantive issues.

Onwurah, who heads the influential parliamentary committee, has rejected Palantir's claims, stating that the government's decision to review the contract was a reasonable move.
