Deported Migrants Find Refuge in Costa Rica After US Deportation

Costa Rica has received 25 people deported by the US as the first wave of an agreement between the two countries. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for these individuals, who now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives in an unfamiliar environment.

The deportation agreement, signed earlier this year, allows the United States to send back migrants who have entered the country illegally or overstayed their visas. Costa Rica, in turn, has agreed to provide temporary housing, medical care, and other support services to help these individuals transition to their new circumstances.
