Hezbollah Leader Calls for Unity, Rejects Israel Talks Amid Attacks

Hezbollah's deputy secretary-general Naim Qassem urges Lebanese unity, saying negotiating with Israel 'under fire' would be a 'surrender' for Lebanon.
Hezbollah, the powerful Lebanese Shia movement, has called for national unity and rejected any negotiations with Israel amid a recent series of attacks on Lebanese targets.
In a speech on Sunday, Hezbollah's deputy secretary-general Naim Qassem said that negotiating with Israel "under fire amounts to imposing surrender" on Lebanon. He urged the country's political factions to set aside their differences and present a united front.
Qassem's comments come in the wake of a string of drone attacks and rocket strikes targeting Hezbollah sites and other locations in Lebanon, which the group has blamed on Israel. The attacks have heightened tensions and raised fears of a potential escalation of the conflict between the two longtime adversaries.
