Liberty Vans Defend Immigrant Communities Across America

Volunteers provide moral and legal support, document ICE raids to hold authorities accountable for the human impact of military-style immigration enforcement.
Liberty Vans, or camioneta de la libertad in Spanish, have emerged across the United States over the past year, deployed in major cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, and most recently, Minneapolis. These vans, emblazoned with the iconic imagery of the Statue of Liberty, are on a mission to defend vulnerable immigrant communities in the crosshairs of federal immigration enforcement.
Volunteers operating the small fleet of three vans, named after the renowned Liberty ships that delivered supplies to Allied forces during World War II, offer moral and legal support to affected families. They stand in visible solidarity with those targeted by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) operations, and critically, they document the actions of immigration authorities to hold them accountable for the human impact of the military-style raids that have become a daily part of American life.
