Mandelson Under EU Scrutiny: Probe Launched into Ex-Trade Commissioner's Epstein Ties

The EU's anti-fraud office, Olaf, will investigate former UK trade commissioner Peter Mandelson's activities in Brussels amid allegations of sharing sensitive data with Jeffrey Epstein.
The European Commission has requested an inquiry by the European Anti-Fraud Office (Olaf) into the activities of former UK trade commissioner Peter Mandelson during his tenure in Brussels. The move comes after the U.S. Department of Justice released documents allegedly showing Mandelson shared sensitive government information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Mandelson, 72, served as the European Union's trade commissioner from 2004 to 2008. The commission stated that it referred the peer to Olaf last week, launching an investigation into his actions while in the high-profile Brussels role.
