New Suffragan Bishop of Stepney Appointed

The King has approved the nomination of The Venerable Roderick (Rod) Ernest Alexander Green to the Suffragan See of Stepney in the Diocese of London.
The Venerable Roderick (Rod) Ernest Alexander Green, BA, MA, MTh, has been appointed as the new Suffragan Bishop of Stepney in the Diocese of London. The King has approved the nomination, which was announced on March 20th, 2026.
Suffragan bishops are assistant bishops who assist the diocesan bishop in a specific geographic area or in a particular aspect of the diocese's ministry. The Suffragan See of Stepney is an area in the eastern part of the Diocese of London.
In his new role, Bishop Green will work closely with the Bishop of London, providing leadership and pastoral care to the diverse communities within the Stepney area. He brings a wealth of experience, having served as an archdeacon in the Diocese of Chelmsford for the past 10 years.
