Northern Ireland Justice Minister Activates 2026 Pay Round for Civil Servants

The Northern Ireland Justice Minister has triggered the 2026-2027 pay negotiations for public sector workers in the region. The Public Service Pay Review Body will now begin the process to determine fair compensation.
Northern Ireland Justice Minister Naomi Long has officially activated the 2026 to 2027 pay round for public sector workers, signaling the start of negotiations with the Public Service Pay Review Body (PSPRB). The activation letter, sent to the PSPRB Chair, formally kicks off the process to determine fair and competitive compensation levels for civil servants and other government employees in the region.
In the letter, Minister Long highlighted the important role that public sector workers play in delivering critical services to the people of Northern Ireland. She noted the need to ensure that pay levels remain attractive and competitive in order to recruit and retain top talent within the civil service.
