Oil Prices Fluctuate as Ukraine Ceasefire Hopes Fade

Uncertainty over the Ukraine-Russia conflict leads to volatile oil markets, with prices rising and falling as investors' confidence in a ceasefire wavers.
Oil prices have been fluctuating in recent days as investors grapple with the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the conflict in Ukraine. After sharp moves the previous day, markets took a more sober tone as confidence in a potential ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine appeared to waver.
The benchmark Brent crude contract rose over 1% to $115 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also edged higher. However, analysts caution that the situation remains highly volatile and unpredictable.
