Oscar Winner Robert De Niro Rallies for Anti-Trump Protests

Robert De Niro, the acclaimed actor, calls for peaceful demonstrations against President Trump, citing their long-running feud and Trump's recent 'low IQ' jab.
Hollywood icon Robert De Niro has issued a rallying cry for people to take to the streets peacefully in protest against President Donald Trump. This comes after Trump took to social media to label the Oscar-winning actor as having an 'extremely low IQ'.
In an exclusive interview with The Guardian, De Niro sat down with reporter Joseph Gedeon to discuss the hope he sees in grassroots opposition to the Trump administration, as well as the longstanding feud between the two public figures.

"The goal is to get rid of Trump," De Niro stated firmly. "We can't let this happen. There's got to be a way to get him out." The actor called for peaceful protests as a means of making their voices heard and driving political change.
De Niro, known for his roles in iconic films like The Godfather Part II and Taxi Driver, has been a vocal critic of Trump for years. Their war of words dates back to the 2016 election, when De Niro famously called Trump a "punk, a "dog", and a "mutt" who is "so blatantly stupid" that "he wants to punch him in the face".
Despite the heated rhetoric, De Niro maintains that his opposition to Trump is not personal, but rather a principled stance against what he sees as the president's damaging policies and divisive rhetoric. "This is not about me. This is about the country," he emphasized.
As the 2020 election approaches, De Niro is hopeful that the growing grassroots movement against Trump will gain momentum and ultimately succeed in removing him from office. "We have to do whatever it takes to get him out," he said. "This is a fight for the soul of America."
