Peer Under Scrutiny: EU Anti-Fraud Agency Investigates Mandelson's Epstein Email Links

The European Commission is investigating whether former EU trade envoy Lord Mandelson breached its code of conduct over his connections to Jeffrey Epstein through email correspondence.
The European Commission has referred former EU trade envoy Lord Mandelson to its anti-fraud agency OLAF to assess whether he breached the Commission's code of conduct through his email correspondence with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The move comes after a trove of Epstein's emails revealed that Mandelson, a prominent Labour peer, had been in regular contact with the convicted sex offender. The emails showed that the two men discussed a range of topics, including business deals and Mandelson's work as the EU's trade commissioner.
A Commission spokesperson said that it was reviewing the matter to determine whether Mandelson's actions had violated the institution's ethical standards. Mandelson has previously denied any wrongdoing, stating that his interactions with Epstein were purely professional in nature.
