UK envoy calls out Russia's use of false narratives and baseless claims to divert attention from its illegal occupation of Ukraine, now in its fifth year.
Russia's strategy of distraction seeks to obscure its violation of OSCE principles, according to a statement by the UK to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Ambassador Holland has highlighted how Russia's false narratives and unsubstantiated allegations aim to distract from its unlawful invasion of Ukraine, which has now entered its fifth year.
The UK will not be drawn away from the core issue of Russia's flagrant disregard for international law and the OSCE principles it has signed up to. Instead, the UK remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and in holding Russia accountable for its actions.
