Shipping in Hormuz Strait and Oil Prices: A Long Road to Recovery

Experts warn that even with the US-Iran ceasefire, the energy crisis is far from over. Doubts over stability and damage to production sites mean a return to normal shipping and prices is uncertain.
The recent US-Israel ceasefire with Iran has sparked hope for an end to the energy crisis that began 40 days ago when Iran's Revolutionary Guards assumed control of the Strait of Hormuz. However, analysts caution that the road to normalcy for shipping and oil prices remains uncertain.
While the ceasefire may offer a glimmer of hope, hundreds of tankers remain stranded in the Gulf. Experts fear that even if relations between the White House and Tehran improve, it will not be enough to restore the flow of oil, gas, chemicals, and other vital items to pre-crisis levels.
