Trump Admin Sues Minnesota for Allowing Trans Athletes in Girls' Sports

The DOJ claims Minnesota is violating Title IX by allowing transgender girls to compete in female school sports and share facilities.
The Trump administration has taken legal action against the state of Minnesota for its policies allowing transgender athletes to compete in girls' sports. In a lawsuit filed by the US Department of Justice, the federal government claims that Minnesota's education department and school athletics body are violating Title IX, the federal law prohibiting sex-based discrimination in programs receiving federal funding.
The DOJ argues that by permitting transgender girls to compete against cisgender girls, as well as share locker rooms and bathrooms with them, Minnesota is depriving female student-athletes of equal opportunities and violating their rights under Title IX. The administration asserts that this policy gives transgender girls an unfair physical advantage and denies biological girls the chance to compete on a level playing field.
